NACSUL Requests Disbarment of Cllr. Johnny Momoh  -Welcomes Recusal of Criminal Court Judge Blamo Dixon

MONROVIA – The National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) has requested the Grievance and Ethics Committee of the Supreme Court of Liberia to disbar or revoke the operational license of Liberian Lawyer Cllr. Johnny Momoh following his indictment by the grand jury of Montserrado County in 2024.

The grand Jury of Montserrado County on November 25, 2024  indicted Cllr. Momoh, Madam Patricia Miatta Kamara of CHAL and others for burglary and theft of property, criminal mischief, criminal facilitation, criminal conspiracy, economic sabotage,  a felony of second degree under Liberian law.

NACSUL considers as a travesty of justice for the Liberian lawyer, Johnny Momoh, to be indicted by the grand Jury of Montserrado County and keep parading the corridors of the Supreme Court without any action taken against him by the Grievance and ethics Committee.

Meanwhile, the Civil Society Group has also welcomed the decision by Criminal Court C” Judge Blamo Dixon to have recused himself in the case involving the Liberian Businesswoman Marie Nellon and Liberian Lawyer Johnny Momoh at the Temple of Justice.

Madam Nellon, a former Fiancee of Cllr. Johnny Momoh was in 2023 allegedly assaulted by Cllr. Momoh and his co- defendants with her belongings including huge cash and jewelries thrown out of their Brewerville’s residence.

Recently, NACSUL demanded Criminal “C” Judge Blamo Dixon to recuse himself from the case because his daughter is allegedly in an intimate relationship with Cllr. Johnny Momoh, who is a co-defendant in the case.

With the recusal of Judge Dixon, NACSUL looks forward for the assignment of a new judge to handle the proceedings, ensuring that the case continues without hindrance.

NACSUL is at the same time demanding the immediate dismissal of Madam Patricia Miatta Kamara, Executive Director of the Christian Health Association of Liberia (CHAL), who and others collaborated with Cllr. Momoh to allegedly violate the right of Madam Nellon.

Concurrently, the National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) is calling on the Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia (AFELL), Women advocacy groups, civil society organizations to rally their support around Madam Marie Nellon to receive speedy and fair trial.
