A Voice for Liberia on the Global Stage -Cllr. Brumskine’s Speaks at the Global Progress Action Summit

MONROVIA – The Global Progress Action Summit (GPA) has taken place in London on September 26, 2025, and in attendance for her country was Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine, a renowned lawyer, politician, and thought leader.

The summit which brought together progressive leaders, policymakers, and activists from nearly 40 countries to discuss rebuilding the broken social contract and restoring trust between citizens and their governments, featured an impressive lineup of leaders, including sitting Prime Ministers from the UK, Canada, Australia, Spain, and Iceland, as well as former Prime Ministers from New Zealand and Sweden.

Cllr. Brumskine’s participation gave Liberia a voice on the global stage, particularly during her panel discussion on rebuilding the broken social contract.

Moderated by Patrick Gaspard, the panel discussion, which included Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar, French MEP Raphaël Glucksmanpean, and Brazilian human rights leader Pedro Abramovay, explored ways to rebuild trust in an age of polarization.

Cllr. Brumskine’s contribution centered on the triad of Dignity, Delivery, and Determination, emphasizing the need to demolish the distrust divide.

She urged world leaders to listen to the realities of African citizens, saying, “Liberians are not debating left or right, north or south. They are debating whether their children will eat, whether electricity will last through the evening, whether jobs exist after graduation.”

Her message was twofold: the global community must not sideline Africa in conversations on progressivism or democracy, and rebuilding trust in Liberia begins with service delivery, including jobs for youth, security for families, and dignity for all citizens.
