Amb. Yisheng Vows to Support Girls Development -Pledges 40ft Container Sanitary Pads to Jewel Starfish Foundation

MONROVIA – Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Ren Yisheng, has committed the Government and people of China to supporting the development of girls across Liberia through the Jewel Starfish Foundation.

Speaking at the dedication of the YWCA Jewels Training Center in Congo Town recently, Ambassador Yisheng said the training of young girls and boys as well as people living with disability is cardinal to the forward march of every society.

“We want to say thank you Madam Vice President for your constant care for young girls and boys, and even people living with disability throughout Liberia. We pray that God continues to empower you to do more,” Ambassador Yisheng said.

According to him, the young people being trained today will grow and become future leaders of the country, urging the Liberian Vice President to continue her great initiatives.

The Chinese Ambassador indicated that China and Liberia are good friends, and they have helped in supporting Liberian agriculture and other sectors, noting that China will continue to do so.

“Madam VP, with your continued engagement and impact on the lives of women and girls and the entire Liberian society, through your foundation we can assure you of our endless support to these initiatives,” he averred.

Ambassador Yisheng said: “We will join hands to bring in equipment that will help enhance the training of the girls who are benefiting from these projects.”

He further indicated that with all the great initiatives and skills training programs expected to be offered through the YWCA Jewel’s Training Center, his administration will collaborate with the Jewel Starfish Foundation to organize an online training for the beneficiaries.

“It is our hope that with our collective efforts, we can all develop a better Liberia through your meaningful venture”.

At the same time, the Chinese Ambassador pledged a 40-foot container of Sanitary Pads to the Jewel Starfish Foundation for the use of Liberian girls.

Meanwhile, the Liberian first female Vice President lauded all of the support given to the Jewel Starfish Foundation in meeting the needs of Liberian girls, mostly the vulnerable ones.

She termed the Chinese Ambassador, and the government and people of China as major partners to Liberia.

She named Cemenco, Liberia Shipping Association, Svenja Walberg Foundation, Spoon Foundation, Chinese Embassy, among others as major partners to the Jewel Starfish Foundation over the years.
