CICO Engineering Company has assured the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Public of Works that the 6.1 kilometer Road project covering ELWA Junction through Red-light to Coca Cola Factory will be completed in 2021, which the company hopes will solidify the company’s good relationship with the that government.

The assurance was made by CICO’s Safety Manager, Kelvin E. Clarke, during a recent tour of the project by a combined team of officials from CICO and the Ministry of Public Works.

The intent of the tour was to have an update on progress made and to assess the quality of works on the project. The tour which was led by Public Works Ministry’s Communications Team and Officers of CICO, to include Zhou Zhi Shang and CICO’s Safety Manager, Kelvin E. Clarke was also witnessed by several marketers at the Red-light.

Mr. Clarke, at the end of the tour, told journalists that the ongoing work is divided into phases as a means of having a fair assessment of the project which will also afford contractors the opportunity to timely rectify any issue or any misstep during their works.

The project, upon its ground breaking ceremony in early 2018 by President George Manneh Weah, commenced in February of this year and is expected to last for a period of two years from 2019 to 2021.

When complete, the road will ease traffic congestions in the biggest commercial territory of Montserrado county, Red light.

The project was long negotiated by the Sirleaf administration to bring relief to drivers and commuters in the wake of extreme unbearable traffic congestion experienced by people moving to and fro the routes.
