‘United We Must’ Liberty Party Welcomes Collaboration

At the signing of the statement of collaboration by the four mainstream opposition political parties, Liberty Party Political leader, Senator Nyoblee Karnga Lawrence, says the marriage of the four mainstream political opposition parties will produce a single presidential candidate 2023 presidential election, saying  that together we must stand or divided we will fall.

Madam Karnga Lawrence who is also Grand Bassa County Senator made the statement when she spoke to a mammoth crowd of supporters and sympathizers who converged at the Headquarters of the Unity Party (UP) in Congo Town to witness the signing of a Commitment of Intent to collaborate in tackling national issues.

On February 21, 2019, the Unity Party (UP), Alternative National Congress (ANC) THE All-Liberian Party (ALP) and the Liberty Party (LP) signed a “Resolution and Statement of Commitment Expressing Unflinching Support for Collaboration Efforts Being Made by the Unity Party, Liberty Party, Alternative National Congress and All Liberian Party.” This statement of Commitment was signed by “Former Presidential Candidates” of the four Parties in the 2017 elections.

Amidst cheers and jubilation and chanting of battle cries and political slogans, the Grand Bassa County Senator and Political Leader of the opposition Liberty Party expressed delight that the All-Liberian Party (ALP) was agreed upon to take the chairmanship, pledging the support of the LP to working with other members of the collaboration to produce a single and formidable candidate.

“We will win, we will win!” the crowd exclaimed as Senator Lawrence said members of the opposition collaboration are pleased to announce the ALP as the chairman of the four collaborating parties.

“Today February 21, 2019, we are pleased to announce that political leadership and chairperson of the collaborating parties; we believe that all partisans of the four collaborating parties supporters and well-wishers and Liberians are please are together with this development,” she said.

The tough talking Bassa Senator indicated that she was happy and excited about the decision that was being made by the four former and present standard bearers of the parties, including Joseph Boakai of the UP, Charles Brumskine of the LP, Alexander Cummings of the ANC and  Benoni Urey of the ALP to jointly commit themselves to supporting this process. “We will work with honesty, sincerity and with love in our hearts for Liberia, our country,” she said.

She maintained that it is time to put our difference aside and work together.   “And as I, my chairman and members of the Liberty Party commit ourselves to this process, we will also ensure that there will be one presidential candidate come 2023 under this umbrella. “Together we stand divided we fall.” She concluded.
